Anyone else concerned about the PARKING LOT ending up in their photographs during any shots walking down the aisle? I hear such GREAT things about TVC, so I was shocked when I saw the parking lot is clearly viewed from the aisle. I turned down other venues for this reason. I'm wondering if the Harrison House wouldn't be beter and does anyone know the ceremony fees for Vineyard caterers as well as for Harrison house????

Re: Parking lot in your photos????
This was the main reason why we didn't have our wedding at John Anthonys.

I just don't get why places do that??? I mean, they can't grow some more tall trees to block it? I'm wondering if it can be noisy too? Maybe I can convince them to put up more 'natural fence' by 2006! That's just crazy!

Re: Parking lot in your photos????
One of the LIW gals got married at Harrison house last year.... Uh forgive me but I cannt recall who...any way I remember their pics being gorgeous & no parking lots .....do a search on the Bridal review...maybe you will be able to see it!
I do not know about TVC, but I know I took some pics in the parking lot @ the Harbor Club, but you cannot tell that it is the lot.....

I think the Vineyard Caterers mentioned that it would be $1000 for the ceremony to be there, but make sure if you book there you get your price quote in writing - we didn't book there because we asked about a bunch of prices, but he only wrote down the higher ones. When I called back to actually book the place, he 'didn't remember' quoting us the lower prices. Since I didn't have it in writing, I wasn't going to push it, I just took my business some place else. I just got a sleazy feeling from that

Re: Parking lot in your photos????
I hear so many fabulous things about the Vineyard Caterers... I was planning on bringing my checkbook with tomorrow and booking if it was everything and a bag of chips I've been hearing, but now I'm not so sure. I WILL get every last detail in writing and FH and I are going with my parents and my sister and possibly my MOH and her husband - so lots of 'witnesses'. Plus I'm going to tell them up front that we have lots of time, we have a budget and either it is what it is or it isn't. We were really excited about finding a reasonably priced Vineyard venue. The others are totally out of our price range and I'm not willing to sacrifice things like a sit down dinner for my guests that are traveling (heck - I'll be traveling - I live near queens!). The meal will be more important to most of my guests than a few power lines or parking lot behind my aisle, I was just very surprised that this has not been an issue for more people and that the venues don't try to 'cover up' or hide the things that take away from the scenery.

Our reception is at Harrison House, and there is a circular driveway with fountain in front, no visible parking lot at all.

I'm almost afraid to ask... anyone know what the prices are at Harrison house? We want an outdoor ceremony, but does anyone know their site fee and/or what their indoor accomodations are like should the weather not cooperate????

Re: Parking lot in your photos????
We are getting married at the Vineyard Caterers... the outdoor ceremony fee is $750. I absolutly never got a sleazy feeling from any of the people there! They also had no problem writing down any additional things I wanted in the contract. I really felt like Bill (manager) and John (coordinator) were very genuine and in no way pressured us. Bill even said 'if you haven't looked at other places yet please feel free... we don't like to pressure our couples'. I repected that... we called the next day and booked!
Let me know if you have anyother questions...

Re: Parking lot in your photos????
Tomorrow I'm meeting with Bill. I am looking very forward to it. I just have to ask him upfront what can or will be done about the power lines, phone pole and parking lot if they are in fact visible to the ceremony guests...
