Parts of Interfaith ceremony (half hour)

Parts of Interfaith ceremony (half hour)

we're having a half hour Jewish/Protestant ceremony.
what did the ceremony consist of? Our Rabbi isn't doing a good job with communication. We're waiting for him to call us back and he has yet to contact our minister (my uncle). And no rehearsal.

Is there room for someone to do a reading?
how many readings?
who usually does what part in the ceremony?
how many prayers?
call to worship?
any singers? (probably not, right?)

if anyone has a complete list i'd appreciate it... (so i can know if the rabbi is leaving anything out)
TIA!

Re: Parts of Interfaith ceremony (half hour)

I'm meeting with my priest next Thursday about our interfaith ceremony. . .We went to a general ceremony meeting after Pre-cana where he told everyone to pick 2 readings, a gospel reading, and prayer of the faithful and songs. When I spoke to him to find out if I had to do this he said 'Yes but we'll have to customize your ceremony '

I know they are going to incorporate the breaking of the glass and the kiddish cup.

He has worked with our Rabbi before so there's no need for us all to meet together but I would like to meet the Rabbi at least once! I'll make FH call him after we meet with the priest.

Where are you having it? Ours is taking place in church I think that has a lot to do with it.

I'll let you know what happens

BTW: I have a book called 'Celebrating Interfaith Marriages, Creating Your own Jewish/Christian Ceremony' By Rabbi Devon A. Lerner It has a few sample ceremonies in it and explainations of different customs.
