As you may know, FH is getting a new apt. After we're settled, we want to have a little engagement/housewarming/whatever party. The apartment is small and we want it to be an intmate gathering, but we want it to be unique and fun. Any theme or concept ideas? Like a fondue party or something?
how about a s'mores party..they sell those little fire pits at stores like bed bath beyond and u can get marshmellows graham crackers and chocolate..so much fun!...
How about an overall dessert party!! You could do chocolate fondue with strawberries and smores and all different cakes, cookies, pastries and ice cream!!
I had 'Mexican Fiesta' we made margaritas and Quesdillas and decorated with Mexican themed decorations. We even had a sombrero and pinata.
I've always thought it would be fun to have a cocktail party like they used to have in the 50's. Everyone get moderately dressed up and you serve cocktails and horsdevours (sp).

I've tried a couple of times, people seem to be so resistant to getting dressed up. I don't know why!!! I think it would be so much fun. My Nanny was telling me that they used to have a little club when she and my Pop were first married, everyone one would put x amount of $ in and every month a different person would host one of these parties at their house. They would all bring some thing with them, and get dressed up, but it didn't cost everyone a lot of $$. It was so cute because she was saying that if you had it at your house it was an excuse to get new curtains or something like that. How cute were the 50's? I love the idea!!

embee, i love it! i think im gong to start that with my group! maybe just the girls at first. so much fun!
