Re: Passed Entrée?

They probably have the 'sides' in the center and they go around 'plating' the entrees?

Re: Passed Entrée?

Sorry I don't get it what do you mean

'they go around 'plating' the entrees?'

does this mean the waiter comes with a bowl and says 'you want?'

Re: Passed Entrée?

Well, the caterer just explain it to me, he says there is a separate table where to food goes and a waiter serves from that. eh.. so complicated... I'm so not impressed.

What happened to good o'fashioned family style, where everyone scoops of the main plate for themselves.

HMMM... i went to a wedding at the GC hotel, and they served the plates with the sides to each guest, but then brought the meat/fish/chicken on platters they carried and the waiters placed the entree on the guests plates.. and even came around for 2nds which surprised me!.

don't know it that is what your caterer is talking about.. or if they mean a buffet where the waiters stand behind the table and dish it out to the guests.

Re: Passed Entrée?

I think they plate the entrees so that way there is some sort of 'portions' allocated to each guest....

Re: Passed Entrée?

I went to a chinese wedding where everything was passed entree. ...there were like 12 courses and the person would come to the table and serve everyone.
