passport DRAMA

passport DRAMA

OMG, I want to cry. Okay so Kevin (my FH) filled out all the info for his passport the beginning of February. When I went online it said to expect the passport on or about March 18th. No passport yet so he calls today and they say it is still in New Orleans being processed and he should receive it the end of the month or early next month. Early next month?? We are leaving for NY on April 8th. I am freaking out that he is not going to have his passport (or birth certificate becasue that is with his passport) , no honeymoon, no marriage license.....ahhhh

I am freaking out, someone give me some hope

Oh no! Did you explain the situation to them? Maybe you can pay extra to have the process sped up; I think that is an option. Good luck!

They said it is past the 20 day window to speed anything up. They need to get that passport to me, that's the bottom line. We did everything we were supposed to do and they are dragging their heels. Thanks for the idea though.

Ok..you need to seriously call them back and tell them your situations. I know for a fact you can pay extra for a 'rush passport.' You can apply for one and even get it by the next day. You need to call them back.

Re: passport DRAMA

This happend to me and my FH last week, they forgot to notify us that his name change document was wrong, so he couldn't get the passport, and they had his birth certificate. We had to drive to CT the night before our cruise and go to his town hall to get his birth certificate and then we tried to go to another place where he could get his name change document, but the judge had passed away the day before, so we couldn't get it, since everybody was at his funeral.... It was horrible, but it eventually worked out, we freaked out for nothing- good luck with yours!!!

You can get a copy of the birth certificate and the use that to get an expediate passport. You just need to show them your tickets and pay the extra money.

If you don't get your passport I think you can still drive to Queens to get your marriage license, I think, but not sure that they only need one form of ID.
