Passport Info :)

Passport Info :)

I know a lot of you ladies are booking your HM and there are a few things you should be aware of:

Some countries require your passport to be active for 6 months AFTER you return from your HM. Check out some .gov sites to see if your HM destination is one of these places. I know that Europe and Mexico are two of these places.

So after looking at my passport and seeing that it expires in May, and DH and I are going to Mexico in April - I sent in my passport to be renewed and used their express service (costs an extra $60) and I got it back in 3 days!!!

I definitely recommend spending the extra 60 - it's worth avoiding the hassle.

Happy Honeymooning

This is true ladies!

We were turned away AT THE AIRPORT while we were trying to check in for our flight to our honeymoon.

DH's passport was going to expire 1 month after we were supposed to return from Tahiti but Tahiti requires that your passport is valid for at least 3 mnths after your return.

Wow...that's good to know. We're going to Venice/Paris so I have to check it out. Will I still be able to use my passport with my maiden name since we're leaving a few days after the wedding? Or is it something that i need to do before I leave for Europe?

Oh we were so pissed that our travel agent did not tell us. We thought we did enough research on our own on Tahiti before we left but I we obviouslymissed something.

From the airport we immediately went to our TA's office & he had to re-book our entire honeymoon. The next day we went to Conn to get his passport renewed (his passport was ready in 3 hours) & the following day was our new flight.

I didn't see anything about Mexico either...but a travel agent I spoke to last month mentioned this to me. I figured better safe than sorry and renewed my passport anyway.
