Just a quick question, does anyone know how to go about getting your passport changed? Do you have to go and apply for a new one? Been married almost a year and I'm trying to change to my new last name! Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

How to get a new passport This is a link to the State Department's website that tells you how to go about getting a new passport, if your name has to be changed.

as long as its less then a year from the time you got your passport they will change it for free, but its just an ammedment they put in the back of it.. kinda chessey.. if its after a year and you want to change your name you need to pay for it, or order a new one and pay for the fees all over again

Re: Passport Name Change?
Go to the post office and they have a form for name changing your passport. Fill it out...I think it is like $30 and you send the application and your old passport and they send you the new one....the only thing is I would not do this if you have a vacation coming up soon...it takes a LONG time.

book your tickets for your honeymoon in your maiden name!!!!!
you will probably be leving for your honeymoon right after your wedding so there will be no time to change your passport or driver's license.
I did this and had no problems.

Actually it's $67. I'm just going to book any international travel in my maiden name until it expires.
