Re: Passport questions??
I've heard some people say they go directly to the passport office (you have to make an appointment) and they get it faster. If you go to the post office you'll have to give them your birth certificate.

I think if you go in person to the post office, they take your info and give it back to you right then and there. But check the requirements online first.

I'm not 100% sure but when I got mine a few years ago, I thought there was an extra fee you could pay to speed up the process. But like I said, I'm not sure.

Re: Passport questions??
if you already have a passport then you just have to bring in the old one. I didnt send away my original birth cirtificate because i had a passport from years ago. FH send his away but he did get it back with no problems.

Re: Passport questions??
If you are traveling within two weeks you can apply for your passport at a local passport agency. The passport agency closest to Long Island is the New York Passport Agency. It is located in Manhattan in the Greater New York Federal Building at 376 Hudson Street. You must make an appointment. Call 1-877-487-2778 24 hours a day.

Re: Passport questions??
to go to the passport office, I think you may need to possess flight tics for 2 days or less in the future
Just go to the post office. IF you need express, pay the extra $$$. You don't want to go to the NYC passport office unless it's ABSOLUTELY necessary/an emergency. You must show up at dawn and wait on a long line around the block. It's very similar to INS
