Passports

Can someone help me. Where do you go to get a passport and how long does it usually take to get issued? Both FH & I need a passport, hopefully by September (vacation), but definitely for honeymoon.

You can go to the post office. You will need to give them your original birth certificate. They need to mail it away. You will get it back when they mail you your passport. I know it is scary to send off your birth certificate but it is the only way to get the passport. It takes about 6 weeks if I remember correctly.

It usually takes 4-6 weeks for you to get a passport. you can get the application from certain post offices. then you would have to get a passport pic taken, and then mail it in ... if you want it sooner, there is a charge for them to rush it.

hope this helped!

You can get the form from the Post Office and you need to get pictures taken (most drug stores take them). You also need your birth certificate. Then you can go to teh post office with eveyrhting, pay the fees and wait. You shoudl def get it by Spetember if you do it soon

Re: Passports

All you need is a birth certificate? Does it have to be the original or can it be a copy? Sorry if I am clueless!!

Re: Passports

The birth certificate has to be an original. And it will be in your maiden name (since that is what your birth certificate is under). As the other girls said, you will need passport pictures taken, and then bring those and your birth certificate to the post office. They will mail it away and you will get in the mail in 4-6 weeks.

Keep in mind if you are changing your name, you will have to do this again but with your original marriage certificate, so when you are getting your marriage certificate, get certified original copies (I think it's about $20-$30 a copy)
