How long is the wait for the passports to come in the mail once you have applied for one?

they say it takes about 8-10 weeks, i sent mine without the rush fee and got it in like 3 weeks. but i think 4-8 is more the standard

FH applied mid February and didn't get his for about 10 weeks. It came 1 week before our wedding.

You can apply for a rush one if you need to... you just have to pay more

Mine took about 3 months. After 2 months , I received a letter stating that my birth cert was invalid (make sure it is issued by the state, not the hospital), after I sent them the correct one it took about another month.
Can I just say it is the worst picture I have ever seen of myself

My FH paid to have it expressed at it got to us in about 2 1/2 weeks.... we were shocked!! So you cant really go by what the USPS tells you.

my friends just applied in January...his took 12 weeks, hers was denied because of the condition of her birth certificate. She had to go IN PERSON to town hall in the city she was born (near boston) and get another certificate, and apply again. (Yes, pay again, too!) That was 9 weeks ago, and she's still waiting for it. Their wedding is in August.

4 to 6 weeks, but I know there is a rush to get them now. The rules are changing now , so hopefully it wont take you that long.
I had lucked out when I had gotten mine, Katrina had hit and my passport was coming from that area. I got a card in the mail telling me that and actually got it the next day. It only took me month to get it.

Mine took about 7 weeks but you can check the status of your passport online. It will tell you when they except to send it to you. I got mine 2 days after they said I should get it.

It all depends on how fast they process them. I heard about 9-12 Wks.

My coworker applied for hers in the beginning of Feb and she didnt get it until 2 weeks ago because she called everyday until they overnighted it. They are VERY backed up so make sure you keep on top of them and make sure you put your travel date at least a week earlier then it really is to ensure you get it in time.

We actually just did ours on Friday and the Post Office is saying 12-14 weeks now. This is a very busy time for them so I would do it as soon as you can. Less to worry about as the wedding gets closer
