Both FH and I need one for our honeymoon. Where do we go and how long does it take??

I think it takes a month. You can get a pic taken at a CVS or Walgreens and then apply for your passport at the post office

Apply at the post office with 2 passport size pictures, you can find the application online that details the documents you need to submit along with it. Takes 3-4 weeks.

Went to Town of Hempstead a few years ago. Even took my picture at the office. One stop shopping.
Not every post office offers passports and the few that do have limited hours.

You can make an apppointment at your post office. They say 3-4 weeks. I know people who got it in 2 weeks. But I would get it done early.

I just got mine and it took exactly 4 weeks. I went to Carle Place post office because you don't need to make an appointment. I was in and out in 5 minutes. The sooner the better, because I was told by my travel agent she needed my name the exact way it was on my passport in order to book our flights.

A lot of the town halls do the passport apps also and take the pictures right there. I went to Oyster Bay town hall because I needed to get my birth certificate also. Did it all without an appointment. I had my passport within 3 weeks.

Also if you get your passport within one year of getting married they will change the name on you passport for free. After you get your marriage licence you just have to print a very easy form that you get online and mail it in with your old passport and marriage license.
