Does anyone know if FH and I will need passports for a cruise to the Southern Carribean? It leaves out of San Juan, just in case that matters...
THANKS FOR THE HELP!

Re: Passports needed?
I don't think you necessarily need a passport but definately bring license and birth certificate.

Re: Passports needed?
I don't think you need one either but I got myself a passport a long time ago, (they are good for 10 years), just to have it...

Re: Passports needed?
My FH and I got passports for our Caribbean cruise as a precaution. I don't want to have any problems checking in or out.

Re: Passports needed?
I would get one just to have one. Passports serve as the best item for identification especially when traveling.
When you start a new job and have to fill out the paperwork of taxes and stuff you have to bring ID and it can either be your passport or your drivers license and Social security card.
I always bring my passport whenever I have to do anything which requires forms of ID and its great to have when traveling

Re: Passports needed?
I have been on so many cruises, they are great. You will need your original birth certificate with a raised seal & your license. It is just easier with a passport but you don't need one.

Re: Passports needed?
Passports were recommended to us also, but since we were getting married, I didn't want to havethe hassle of then changing my name on the passport after we got back from vacation. We just brought our birth certificates, and our drivers licenses and everything was fine. You won't have your marriage license by the time you leave on your honeymoon.

Re: Passports needed?
I would not leave the country at all anymore w/o my passport. I guess that's my paranoid attitude about the situation around the world. When DH & I went to Jamaica last year he was questioned more than once about the validity of his birth certificate, it had a seal but it's 38 years old! It was just much easier for me to get through all checkpoints with the passport. Easy to get & they're good for ten years.
