Anywhere you go in Hawaii they make you sign an agricultural waiver that says you aren't bringing anything into the state like plants or fruit. They check your bags when you're leaving too, to make sure you aren't taking anything out.
Not sure how 'important' this is, but since you're in a committed relationship: if you're going to wear a flower in your hair you should tuck it behind your left ear bc that means you're spoken for. Behind your right ear means your single and looking!
HTH!! What else do you want to know??

Mau'i: stayed at GRAND WAILEA.
Restaurants:
Humu's - our first meal after a long flight - we loved it - especially since it was on a lagoon with big fish swimming - we had the spiny tail lobster there which was amazing - at Grand Wailea Pacific Grill-desert was delicious, food was excellent, at the four Seasons Old Lahaina Luau - in Lahaina. We had traditional seating up front and our backs were killing us from leaning over at the end of the night. You see really beautiful sunsets here - lots of great pics. The show was great but if you want less traditional and more fire-throwing stuff- this show isn't the one you want. The food was traditional - it wasn't my favorite. Mamma's Fish House - The best meal in Mau'i. Everything was ridiculously tasty & fresh. Very romantic too. Absolutely loved this restaurant and the service was the best! Nick's Fish Market - I've read some really nice reviews about this place - however our experience here was not so great. The service was horrible - we had 5 waiters- who wouldn't wait on us! No bread - no menus - until we asked for them. My dish was OK - DH's dish was really good. Desert was ok. Saw at another table they lit some strawberries on fire - that look great! So-so experience - could have been an off night. At Fairmont Kealani. Ferraro's- if you go here get early reservations for a nice sunset and ask for a seat up front. Order the lobster risotto - it's their signature dish and was really that good! Service was great - this was the most expensive restaurant we ate at.
we also tried the sushi restaurant at the GW one night (as appetizer) :)
that was very good as well.

Do you have any specific questions?? It's hard to just talk about HI w/out knowing what you're really looking for...

Prostitution is legal so be leery in Oahu
The Hawaiians are very proud of their state & take every opportunity to talk about it.
There are pinapples everywhere!
If you drive to Hana & go off the main road, it supposedly voids your rental car agreement (we had done it anyway & its worth the trip but some pretty harried driving!) Views are amazing.

I've been told to pack light. No need for fancy shmancy clothing because everything is so casual and laid back. Even at the nicer places to eat and what not. I've also been told that Maui is a little more happenin, and Kuai is real pretty and more of a hang out chilling time.
