Past brides - what did you do with your bq?

Past brides - what did you do with your bq?

My mom thinks I should give it away either by tossing it or anniversary dance.

I on the other hand think of preserving it. BUT i am totally unsure if its a ton of money that I might do it.

Thank You!

my mom threw it out while i was on my HM... I thought about preservation but decided it wasn't worth it. I am still fine with that decision.
I have the pics which are just fine.

I just threw mine out this past weekend...

It was getting kind of nasty, I didn't dry it out properly...

it's so hard to say goodbye to some things...

My husband brought it to a place to be preserved and then the flowers were used to make a shadow box along with our invitation and save the date card. I tried looking up the place. but I don't remember the name. It's in the valley Stream or Malverne area. It cost about $200. There is also a place called Keepsake Floral that will do this.

funny story...after the wedding we put it on top of a box with some wedding stuff and took it back to the hotel with us. the following morning, my sister picked us up from the hotel with my car and DH put all the boxes in the trunk...including the one with my bo-k and i had no idea.

we went on our HM and when we got back i realized i hadnt seen it since the night of the wedding. we opened the trunk and there it was...dried out and shriveled up. i had all intentions of preserving it but the wedding night is so hectic and you get so caught up in everything! oh well...at least i have pics and my memories .

I threw it in the garbage about a week after the wedding because it was drying up. I knew I couldn't keep it forever unless I preserved it which I really didn't want to do. The pictures are good enough for me. Although I was really sad at the time to have to get rid of it.

I hung it upside down for a couple weeks and now it's in a vase. I don't know how long it will last that way though.

I dried it out at my mom's house. She hung it upside down in my room at her house after spraying the flowers with hairspray, and then once it was dried out I put in a football display box I got from Michael's and it sits on my dresser. I also dried DH's bout and it's in there too.

I threw mine out when we got back from the honeymoon. I had kept it in the fridge while we were away - So I pulled out a few flowers from it and pressed them in a book.

Thanks for the ideas.. didn't think of doing maybe my bq and fh's bout with maybe the invitation. I always kept dried flowers so I think I might keep my bq but we will see after the wedding night is said and done.

I dried mine and then put the petals in one of the many crystal bowls we got.

my mom said that my boquet died the day after the wedding...but everyone's else's bq's lasted like 2 weeks or so...so even if I had tried to send it away to get preserved, it would have been a waste of money....

I did keep the wrapping from DH's bout though for a souvenier.
