The week of the wedding, I made sure that I had EVERYTING in order. I was so calm and excited. I just focused on having a good time. I made a list of everything I needed and checked it off as I went along. That helped me feel in control. I also bought stuff for the HM and figured out what I was going to bring (didn't pack until the day before the HM though!). Above all, just try to enjoy this time... it's going to fly by!

I don't remember where I got this from (brides.com or maybe weddingbee??), but here's what I intend to do--

-----------
Use this final week to cleanse your body. You'll want to avoid dairy, salty foods, and processed sugars or artificial sweeteners. This means no milk, cheese, yogurt, butter, sugars, honey, candy, or soda. Wetzstein advises brides to limit starches such as breads, rice, pasta, beans, bananas and cereals. If you must eat them, do so before 5pm. Eat lots of fresh fruits and nonstarchy vegetables and lean protein. And to improve skin tone, hair quality, and digestion opt for foods rich in omega-3s. They include sardines, salmon, and walnuts. She recommends taking one tablespoon of unrefined flaxseed oil in the morning before your breakfast.

I'll be doing the opposite of this! Bring on the ice cream so that the dress won't fall off of me.

just curious, why? a good portion of those foods are supposed to be in a healthy diet, and by themselves, they are very good for you... Of course, everything should be in moderation... but to delete them all may cause dietary havock, especially if you normally have a good diet rich in lean meat, whole grains, legumes and fruits and veg's. Also not too good to eat a lot of salmon or other deep sea large fish... they tend to have higher concentrations of mercury and other pollutants in them, since they eat other fish, rather than seaweed / plankton...

On the other hand, avoiding processed foods, hydrogenated oils, and all artificial sweeteners / flavoring / preservatives / corn syrup is great.... FH and I haven't had any of that in the house for YEARS

i'm not sure actually..i know salty foods tend to make me retain water...some other foods that contain a lot of sugar cause me to break out...cheese, candy, and soda make me feel bloated..as do some starches...

i'll have to find the source of the article..but it's advocating eating lots of fresh fruits and vegetables and lean protein..which i figured wouldn't be too bad of a diet for at least one week before the wedding...

Like other brides said, just make sure everything is in order:

- Tip envelopes!!! Soooo important.
- Everything going to the RH, if you haven't taken it in already.
- Call all vendors just to reconfirm if you haven't done this already.
- Make sure all your girls/families have everything set as far as what they're doing the day of, where they'll be at what time, etc.
- Don't forget to EAT!!! You'll need energy and you can't feel good if you don't have the energy.

- MOST IMPORTANT - RELAX and HAVE FUN!! Seriously, I planned my wedding in 6 weeks and even I, about 3 days before the wedding, just didn't care anymore about stressing the small stuff. As soon as I dropped everything off at the RH, I went to a well-deserved Spa Day that DH got for me as a wedding gift. After that I was just relaxed and having fun. I couldn't care less if the roof fell in on me. I stopped thinking of vendors, timing, weather, etc. I was just so excited to be getting married, that nothing else mattered anymore.

Sorry, but I think the week before the wedding is a really, REALLY bad time to make any drastic changes to your diet...

ME TOOO!!! I don't want to keep losing more weight!

plus, I think milk and calcium is good for your skin, but other than that - thank for this advice - I appreciate it!!!!

Re: past Brides - what do you do when you are in SINGLE DIGITS?

No, dairy is not good for your skin (neither is peanut butter or shellfish, believe it or not)... but if you don't have skin problems and you eat a balanced diet, you'll be FINE t he week before the wedding. Why add more stress to that week? It should be time to try to relax and celebrate your last week of being engaged!

Re: past Brides - what do you do when you are in SINGLE DIGITS?

well, if you home cook food, you can be in control of salt and all the other things... I definitely advocate veg and fruit consumtion, but I wouldn't avoid all starches or dairy. a couple oz of cheese or a little yogurt / milk is actually good for you... moderation is key.. and beans / yams / brown rice is also really good (not to mention yummy)...

Most of all, I wouldn't just do that for a week... I have cut out junk permanently...

(you wouldn't believe how gross cola and processed cheese tastes after you've removed all cr@p from your diet! Not to mention how much healthier you feel!)

I just excitedly waited for the big day.. Everything was done at this point, and I wasn't going to start worrying about the small stuff. Just relax and enjoy your last few days of being engaged. They fly by so fast!!

I think all the major things are done and set, just little things to organize and get together. I am not worrying about little stuff at this point. (I just hope it doesnt' rain BUT I know I can't control the weather)

I have heard these last few days will fly by!

I will try to relax,
thanks for the advice,
Nina
