Did anyone use or does anyone plan to use chair covers? If so how has the CHCC's reaction been? When I mentioned it my BM seemed offended and tried to discourage me.
Also, I mentioned the votive placecards and he said he didn't think it would be possible. They have been great about everything and I'm trying to be patient because I have awhile to go but I feel like we're paying so much money you would think they could be more accommodating.

OK...well no chair covers for me cause I like the way the chairs look in the Emerald room.
CH has very nice chairs...no stains from what i can tell (unlike somoe other places that you NEED the covers to hide the poor quality chairs)
As for votive placecards...i didnt mention that cause thats not something i'd do but i was told candles were alright for CP's

Why did they tell you you can't do the votive placecards? Are you using the house florist? No one even told me about the chair covers, but I don't think I want them. Anti-bride, are you doing an outdoor CH? I'm still undecided. Did they tell you which room your CH is in? Finally, is anyone doing a signature drink?

I am having an outdoor cocktail hour and they said they would set up the table with the placecards outside and that it would be to cumbersome for my guest to carry a votive with them from the cocktail hour to the reception.
I am not using the house florist because my godfather owns a flower shop. As far as the chair covers I am doing a all white and cream wedding so the Burgundy chairs may be distracting. They don't provide chair covers, I have been getting quotes from outside vendors.

oh and they pick your CH room the day of...we have no say except if you do it outside, but then you might be sharing it with another party

Yeah, I guess Nov is kind of cold for a CH. So what are people talking about when they ask if someone is doing the lights or chair covers?
Right now I'm doing an indoors CH, will see later if I have enough the outdoors CH. Uggh, I don't want to share the pool area, but it is a big pool.
I really don't want to use the house florist. I wish my godfather owned a florist, or a limo company, or a bridal salon, or a spa, or a photography studio, tuxedo shop....

you dont have to use anyone....they just give you a list of suggested vendors who they know are reliable ....you can choose anyone you want though sweetie!!!

On my contract it says something about only using the house vendors for the florists and they give like a $10 discount off each centerpiece. Did anyone else have this on their contract? Please double-check. Thanks..

I asked when I saw that on the contract also but all it means is if you use the house florist you get $10 off per centerpiece, your not limited you can use any florist you want.
