Past May Brides

Do you wish you had a wedding cordinator?
I was planning on delegating tasks to family members, but should I try and budget for a professional?

Only if you think your family members can't handle it.

Honestly, your maitre d really takes care of everything during the reception....and during the course of the day, the things you may think of as being a big deal to handle, are really short little things that require more thought than action...like tipping etc.

If you are concerned with people staying together for photos, things like that, your photographer will help lay the law down if you ask him to, and most issues can be addressed at a rehearsal dinner or before things really start to kick in that day.

I wouldn't have been able to justify spending the money...but sure..it would have been nice!

Not whatsoever. I loved my day the way it was and although nothing is ever 100% perfect, I feel they are not needed at all

I 100% ABSOLUTELY WISH that I could have afforded a wedding coordinator. Would have been WONDERFUL and so much easier!!!!!!

I don't feel as if I needed one. Yeah it probably would have been less stressful in all of the planning, but I think you're missing out on things if you're not part of the plans.

I also enjoyed planning myself, although it did get stressful at times. Try to do it yourself, if you feel a bit crazed ask for help from friends.

Its very satisfying to do it yourself but if I had to do it over again, I would definitely hire a planner. I would have been much calmer. I also work crazy hours and weekends so it was hard for me to meet with vendors. If you're very organized and have enough time and support from family, you don't need to spend the money.

I am a control freak, so just thinking on leaving all on somebody else's hands, no way! I liked to be in control of everything, and believe me it was not hard, it requiered only organization. We had a 52 people reception, and everything went just fine.
