Did you ladies have a good turn out with your guests, considering in was a holiday weekend? Im thinking about booking May 29th 2010 which is the saturday during Memorial Weekend, but not sure if its a good idea. Thanks for your help!
I'm not a memorial day weekend bride...but I went to a wedding on a Sunday Memorial Day weekend and it was great...so many people were at the ceremony and reception. I think you'll be fine...just send out a STD.
I got married Memorial Day weekend in 2007. We really didn't have many people saying no because of vacations, our no's were mostly OOT and over seas guests. I'd say go for it. We gave out STD's at our engagment party.
We had about 125 guests come out of 180 that was invited and I think thats normal for any wedding no matter if its a holiday or not.

I TOLD EVERYONE WHO WAS IMPORTANT TO MY AND MY HUSBAND WAY IN ADVANCED ABOUT OUR WEDDDING DATE SO THEY WOULDNT MAKE ANY PLANS. WE INVITED 292 AND 23O ATTENED. ANYONE WHO IS IMPORTANT TO US WAS THERE! I had my wedding the sunday before memorial day this year and it was great. Mostly everyone was able to come- it actually worked out better for most of my OOT'ers. A few work friends have vacations panned, but mostly everyone that mattered most was there!
I had 225 guests attend on the Sunday before Memorial Day.
I'm getting married this memorial day and sent out my Save the Dates many months back. I think as long as you do that you should be fine. Not everyone goes away that weekend and if they know you are getting married they won't.
