Past, present & future brides of Chateau Briand

of Chateau Briand, where are you guys blocking your hotel rooms?

FH called Fox Hollow Inn Suites because we were told we can get a free room there the night of our wedding but the guy on the phone said if we can guarantee 12 rooms to be booked they'll charge us $220.

We don't want to ask our guests to spend $220 to sleep in a room for 6-7 hours.

I know there's the Holiday Inn right next door but anyone staying anywhere else?

We booked our room block at hyatt place and it was very nice... i think it was 139 a night, the rooms were very nice, you should check them out

Hyatt? Which one? Was it far from the rh? Did they offer any type of shuttle service?

hyatt place, it was like 2 minutes away... i don't remember the exact address but if you know where the dmv is by roosevelt field it's kinda over there... i don't know if they provide a shuttle service but i'm sure they must have something

we actually looked into the holiday inn next door because that was obviously the most convenient, but apparently we were too late (booking it 6 months before) and they only had smoking rooms left- nobody in my family smokes so that was an immediate no

My fh wants to stay @ the Marriott, he knows one of the guys over there but I don't want my guests traveling to far and I know the Holiday Inn is right next door and Hyatt Place is like right across the street.

We did our block next door at the Holiday Inn, none of our guest ended up blocking any rooms because they are all from LI, but me and the BP stayed there the night before and got ready the day of so we just had to walk over that day and then me and DH stayed there the night of the wedding

Was it a nice Holiday Inn at least? FH wants to go and look at some hotels this weekend in the area. I guess it makes perfect sense to stay right next door.

We can save on shuttle service. Do you remember their rates?

I blocked at the hampton inn its literally around the corner from cb. Lisa thomas is the lady I've dealt with and she has been a pleasure and answers questions very promtly.

We're going to look into a few hotels, The Holiday Inn does make the most sense but between there, Hyatt Place, Hampton Inn & the Marriott I'm sure we'll find one that's under $150.

Re: Past, present & future brides of Chateau Briand

I am sorry but I am really confused. We are getting married at CB in November of next year and we get a one night stay the night of the wedding included...which has nothing to do with whether or not we block rooms. I originally wanted to see if we did block the rooms, would they throw in the night before but that's when I found out that you have to guarantee 60% of the rooms you block or your are responsible for the rooms not taken (for example, if you block 10, 6 need to be reserved and if not, you have to pay the per night price per room under 6 not reserved). Unless it is not in your contract, you should be getting that night for free no matter what!

Now, ITA that I am not subjecting my guests to that type of a rate. My first choice is the Holiday Inn b/c it is sooo convenient and they do not hold you responsible for anything. I have already spoken to them but it was way too early for me to block rooms. If you are interested, you can go down there and check out the rooms to see if you like them and whether or not you would want your guests staying there. To be honest, i would check out whichever hotel you decide to block to make sure the pictures match the actual space! Hope this helps!

Fh wants to go where everyone else is going. Our room is free no matter what if we stay at Fox Hollow Inn Suites but he doesn't want to stay at that hotel if nobody else is going to stay there with us.

So now we are looking at other hotels and fh doesn't care if he has to pay, as long as his guests are happy.

We haven't looked into anything just yet but we are getting married in June and since it's a busy time of the year for weddings we want to start looking at other hotels in the area.

everything was great!!!!! Are you having a night wedding? if you are, I suggest that you guys just go right to the Inn for your free night and let the others guests stay next door at the holiday inn. Come 1am everyone is going to be exhausted LOL!!!!!!
