I know we have to meet with our officient about a month before the wedding. What do we do then? Also, when do you set up the music and do they have 'samples' for you to listen to? We just finished precana but didn't get any of this info. Anything you could share would help!
Thanks!!

Re: Past St. Kilians brides, a question for you...
No, they didn't tell us any of this in precana either. We thought they would cover this...
About a month before, we met with Deacon Barone (who married us) and went over the program. He lent us some programs from prior weddings so we would know what to write in our programs. (I have extra programs from my wedding; I'll mail you one if you want). We had wanted to meet with him earlier than a month before, but he didn't want us sooner than that.
We met with the music director (Paul) and the vocalist (Kathleen) in the basement of the church. They had some suggestions of songs that we REALLY liked. We largely went with their suggestions. It took quite a few messages (3?) for the music director to call me back. He did eventually, but I was starting to get nervous.
When we finally met with the music people, it was only 2 weeks before the wedding. I didn't want to wait to make the programs, so we decided to go ahead without listing the music on them.
When you have your meeting with your officiant a month before the wedding, bring a notepad. He will give you your 'homily homework' assignment and tell you what you need for tips for the RD and the day of.
If you have any questions, FM me. I don't check the boards too often nowadays.
