Re: PAST summer brides

Sweating is my fear.
This is why we are getting married in the winter. I can't deal with heat or humidity.
My makeup will melt right off.

Re: PAST summer brides

My wedding day was hot, but breezy. I was worried about my hair frizzing, but my hairdresser sprayed some 'glue' type product in my hair and I had no problems!
As far as my make-up, a friend of mine worked at Sephora and recommended 2 products - a foundation primer from English Ideas and a spray mist from Caudalie to refresh my face. I used the mist twice and it helped with freshening up. I had no problems as far as my make-up melting or looking shiny.
My husband, on the other hand, had some sweat dripping on his face during our cake-cutting..you can see it in some of the pics..so you might want to carry some face-blotters for your FH!

Re: PAST summer brides

It rained in the morning and early afternoon and then it was hot but I don't remember it being horrible. I wore my hair half up/half down - I would have loved to have worn it all down but was worried about humidity/frizz.
Makeup stayed perfectly and i didn't airbrush - so your makeup should be just fine. I did have with me these little oil papers from Clean and Clear that said they would take oil/shine off your face but not makeup. Didn't even really need them though - good luck!

M,
Im worried about this too. Im getting married next summer and all i ever said was 'Id never get married int he summer' and here I am w/ a summer wedding. I am trying to think of places that have indoor facilities for pics in case of (and for the very likey chance) of humidity. Are you def taking pics outside? Can you go to an indoor place? How is the indoor facility at your reception hall for the ceremony?

Re: PAST summer brides

I was a past summer bride and it was damp, moist, and muddy although somewhat humid. We had rain on our special day and during dinner it then thunder and lighting. My crinoline kept my legs and thighs cool which I had stockings and my garter on. However, regardless of the weather I was not going to let it put a damper on my one special day. I really enjoyed my special day to the fullest!

Re: PAST summer brides

we got married in august and this along with a hurricane was my biggest concern. we turned out to have an amazing day...hot, yes, but breezy and not very humid. i planned ahead of time and knew that keeping my hair curly would be the best thing for me, so it was casually pinned and loose. my dress was strapless. no stockings. my b/m were all in tea length bare shoulder dresses and that helped them. i had fans for our guests. the men were the ones who had it bad. i kept my deodorant with me throughout the day and touched up. my makeup stayed on...waterproof mascara, makeup primer, powder, and AIR CONDITIONING!!!!!!!! everything worked out well, but again, we lucked out with our day. good luck to you!!!!

Re: PAST summer brides

We got married in August on, what seemed, was the hottest day of the year!!!

However, my make-up didn't run and my hair stayed the same all through the night.

This picture was taken at the end of the wedding and everything stayed put!
