So we met with Patken yesterday. They were awesome! Everything from the layout of the albums to the candid/photojournalistic style.... it's exactly what we were looking for. We seemed to like Vinny's style of photography the best. So we met with him and he was great! i got a really good feeling about them and I know you girls have been raving about Patken!
They put a package together with photo and video for a little over 6000. (we liked the fancy 'magazine style' album.) Not sure if that's a good price or not. It includes A LOT... but we have nothing else to compare to since this was the 1st photographer we looked at...
What I'm looking for right now is- 1. Any reviews of Patken (for both photo AND video) and any reviews of specific photographers. And 2. Any other photographers who have a style similar to Patken that we can go see, just to shop around/compare prices etc.
Any input is appreciated- as always!

I'm using Patken too, and I always do searches of them. Vinny had done a lot of LIW brides, so if you do a search under The Brides Review for Vinny Patken, they should come right up. We only did photo, and the more traditional type album, so I can't comment on the price.
Actually, my friend who just got married in Nov used a photog that was very traditional, and they got the magazine style album and video, and they paid $6000. We met w/ them, and their photos were nowhere near as good as Patken, so I'm thinking that's actually a good price.

My coworker used Patken in Oct. and loved them. Her pics are beautiful (I already saw all of the proofs!).
What is included in the package? I have been shopping around and seems competive but hard to say without knowing what was included.

ididn't know you were using patken -- if you were at their offices the other day then you right by Fat Burger and All American -- and right down the street from my office!
Keep it in mind the next time you have to go out there!

Patken was the first i met with also! Loved them but ended up going with a different photography company where FH and i felt better about it. There are several other photographers that i met with that definitely have a similar style (keep in mind i met with 11 photographers)! Lawrence, silverfox and thomas paul were three that come to mind. They all had a very similar style!! HTH and good luck!

I am using patken for photo and video too!! Love them!! We booked with jessie. We are paying $4000 for both, but we are not getting parent albums, so it's cheaper.

ALso a patken bride here. We met Vinny and he seems good. His work looks lovely. I feel that we are paying an arm and a leg but that seems to be the theme for weddings in general. Anyone know anything about the turnover time for proofs? We got the traditional albumn, no parent albumns, photo and video for 4k so i guess they are pricing us all the same which seems fair. Cant wait to see how it all turns out TWO MONTHS TOMORROW.................hehehehe
