Just booked with patken this week and im having buyers remorse!! I dont know why im just so nervous!!! We love photojournalistic photos, and they seem to have a lot of nice pictures but also a lot of steamy sexy ones that arent really our speed. The more I look around, the more steamy photos!! Why didnt i notice this when I booked!!
Dont get me wrong, if thats what your comfertable with, then more power to you! But we are just not!

I think you should tell them you want more traditional. I think Patken does beautiful work and I considered them, but I kind of shared your opinion. If your not sure I would keep looking. Maybe try North Island, he has the same feel as Patken and is often compared to him, but his pictures are not as 'steamy.'

I am a Patken bride and I asked for those 'steamy' photos. They will totally work with whatever you want, no worries. When you meet with them again just tell them your concerns, they will do whatever you want :) Good luck and you will have WONDERFUL pictures!!!

i booked with them too & while I'm not into all of the steamy ones I did take a few for the E-Pics (in album) but I know for a fact if you don't want that type you can just tell them & they will assign you one of the photographers that they seem fit. Like I am so not into any of me in my underwear..from the dress being zipped is enough for me. Dont' worry

I plan to book with Patken after seeing a friend's proofs. She was older and not interested in the 'steamy' photos but all her photos were beautiful! They were unique in the poses and has awesome quality. She recommended Patken to 3 other people and me and we are all using them. I hope that helps a bit!!

I had the same concerns and brought it up to them before i booked. They said they will do whatever style we are comfortable with, so just let your photographer know what you like!

Im A Patken bride & although into 'steamy' stuff - just not into putting it on film...lol
We spoke w/ photographer & they gave us exactly what we wanted & nothing that we didnt - YOU'RE the PAYING CUSTOMER - all you need to do is SPEAK UP! - & NEVER be afraid of voicing your concerns - after all...(hopefully you're doing this only once) & it's your WEDDING DAY - you want what you want! HTH!

Just be honest with the photog and tell them that isn't your thing... I agree with you on the sexy stuff... it is the reason I didn't book with them... I would just look super uncomfortable in all of my pictures. Some girls can totally pull it off though!!! They take great pictures so I wouldn't worry but just tell them the kind of shots you're looking for...
