Patken - Basic Video

before we booked with them i found a review on here with the video. fh and i were not happy with what we saw.
i called them asking if we could go back to view some dvds of 'real weddings'not highlights of a basic package. they had no problem with that.
fh and i watched two weddings and did not like most of what we saw. we expressed to doug what we did not like and what we would like.
what it comes down to is editing. some brides what everything. fh andi had decided we want lots of editing to make it look AWESOME!!
in the end we booked with them because we felt what we want can and will get done.

have you watched a basic video package from them?

I booked both video and photos with them. Omg what did you see???? It was bad??? I was just getting the basic package- but omg now that you just said that Im like freaking out...... what did you see?? How much extra is it for them to edit and stuff?

this is only our opinion of what we saw.

this is what we didnt care for.

the bridal party entrance for the ceremony and reception.
one bride wanted the entire footage.
so you could see them zooming in and out.
on another it was edited so it looked great.

how the ceremony was shot
it was on a hand held camera. it was shaking and moving all the time.
we liked the one on the tripod better.

there is no extra charge for having it edited the way you want.

they prefer more editing because it makes it look so much better but they need to do what the bride and groom want.

we just needed to make sure what we wanted could get done.
and it can. thats why we booked


my advice
always look at a real wedding that as been edited
that way you know how they shoot

OH no, now I'm nervous. We never asked to see a sample video (don't ask me why?). We were so focused on the albums. I just checked my contract and apparently we chose the Basic video with baby photo beginning. Does this not include any editing??

they have a great chapter selection as well

I am a Patken Bride and I know exactly what you are talking about......

Me and FH didnt like the their video examples either so we booked a separate videographer. So Patken is our photographer but not videographer.

the basic pkg is an edited version. Then there is Deluxe video..in which they add a recap of the day, as well as some honeymoon pictures. We had basic at first, then upgraded to Deluxe because we loved our honeymoon pics! You just need to add another song if you choose the deluxe video.

We chose that at first.. it is edited but does not include a recap or honeymoon pics. You can upgrade to that when you get your proofs.. that's what we did...
We loved our video trailer which they now post on the website a couple of weeks after the wedding..
