My wedding is 2 /12 months away and I know 1/3 of the payment is due a month before the wedding. We are doing a photo montage so obviously we need to bring in pictures so would I schedule a final mtg w/my photographer a month out to go over everything for the day?
I know there is a lot of past Patken brides here.

Don't worry they will always call you and tell you when money is due. If you want you can be proactive and just sch. an appointment with them a month before the wedding...

when did you ladies meet with your photographer the first time? my wedding is still 8 months away, but am not sure when to actually meet with my photographer to look at his portfolio and discuss pictures and stuff. any idea?

We did all that stuff at our engagment photoshoot. You have to call to make an appointment for that.

They told me to make a appointment when the weddings is around two months away. You should then go over everything then and if you want make another appointment with your photog if you have any changes prior to your wedding.

my concern was, i've never heard of my photographer and don't know what kind of work he does. what if i want to change photographers before the wedding? would that be possible? should i meet with them sooner?

Same thing no one has had my patken photographer. I tried to request vinnie but he was 'booked' so i think unless otherwise noted pretty much who they assigned you is who you get unless you requested someone at contract signing.
I looked over this guys portfolio a while ago and found they pretty much all do the same quality and look of anyone else there.

Thats how it worked for us. We did the e shoot and then decided we really liked the guy that worked with us and we requested him....worked out well...

No you can request a particular photographer when you book them. If you do not do that then you are assigned someone after your engagement shoot and that is your photographer.
