Can you tell me based on your experience which vendor you would suggest?
Also, for Patken, was it it a problem to have only 1 photographer?
Thanks for your advice!!!

Re: Patken or Duet
I know people who had Duet and LOVED them. I'd only take a Photographer with more then one person (just my opinion)

I love Duet's style. I would definitely recommend 2 photographers so no shots are missed.

I haven't worked with either, but just from seeing photos from each, I'd pick Duet.

Re: Patken or Duet
I'm booked with Duet and we're so happy with our choice! Their packages are great and reasonably priced and their albums are amazing, which is one of things that completely sold us. I'd definitely say 2 photogs is the way to go, so everything is captured throughout the day.

I am using Patken and I love them so far. I am not concerned with the fact that there is only one photographer. I am also having zap photos through our dj also

Re: Patken or Duet
I am also using Patken and they are amazing!! I was incredibly happy with my e-shots and our save the dates and I absolutely love love love their style of photography. Plus their owner Doug is incredibly well known and well respected in the business, so that was enough for me. I am not worried at all about only having one photographer after seeing proofs and albums when we went in to visit.

Re: Patken or Duet
Crashing! We used Patken in June, and all I can say is Jessie surpassed our expectations. After seeing what she did for a few of our family members, I had so much confidence in her I didn't even give her a must take list and she nailed EVERYTHING. There is not one pic that I can say we are missing she did a fantastic job! Good Luck!

Re: Patken or Duet
My FH and I met with both vendors, and they were our top two choices. Patken we found was more of an industry, we felt a little pressured by them to book, and they were less willing to work with our package wants. We found Duet to be a lot more accommodating, and they seem to offer a lot more for the money. However, Patken does do the Engagment shoot as part of their packages, and Duet's is only part of some packages. Also, Patken teaches their photographers a particular (beautiful) style, while Duet allows photographers to use their own style. Duet also lets you choose your photographer, and Patken assigns you one based on a questionairre you fill out.

Beautiful pics. Wish I would have seen an album like this from them. I did not love their albums presented at the showcase and felt very pressured to make an appt just to save a few hundred bucks.

My sister in law used them and didn't do their engagement shoot, they don't force you to.

I love Duet also but you can request a photographer at Patken we did and so has anyone we have referred to them.

Wow, I'm surprised to hear that cause they def told us that we can't. Or rather, that we could but their sample albums and pictures aren't labeled who did which so there's no way of knowing who to request unless you have a recommendation from a friend or something. I guess I spoke out of turn. Sorry!

They suggest that you let them choose at Patken but you can request. I request Steve and they gave him to us

Re: Patken or Duet
In my book? Duet HANDS DOWN! I was a bridesmaid in a wedding they did a few months ago and they were everywhere! I just saw my best friend's proofs and they got shots that you didn't even know were happening! The posed shots were both traditional and creative. In a word, their pictures gorgeous! And wow! I've never seen so many proofs in my life! My friend is actually increasing the size of her album because they took so many fantastic shots. We're going to look at them right after the holiday and likely book with them as well if they're available for our date. I'd rather not get into why I would never, ever, ever recommend Patken publicly but would be happy to share through FM. I'm sure their photographers are very talented and the girls who have them booked are surely in great hands but in my experience I was truly horrified with the way I was treated. Best of luck in your hunt! :)
