Hi! We just met with Ken (the owner) from Patken's tonight, and we really liked their work...BUT, there are a couple of things that seemed not right and I really wanted people's opinion/suggestions:
1. They were not able to show us albums by specific photographers (eventhough they were all good)
Definitely think about it, before you book them. I have been told that in such instances that they can't promise you who you'll photographer will be its because they hire a lot of people outside the company to do the work. Also I don't think its very professional or honest to show you a variation of work and can't show you any specific photographers work. How will you know if you are getting what you want and paid for. Not every photographer will meet the style your looking for. I am not saying that they are not able to deliver, but I think if your putting down money that's non-refundable that you should know exactly what your getting or at least get what you want. Please let us know what you decide to do, remember don't settle.

I know you don't remember the name of the place on Schmitt Street, but is there a landmark? I've been there twice and I can't find it!! Please help! I've also been to Smith Street! Any info would be great!

We are skeptical with Patken, so we will keep on looking...photography is an incredibly important part of my wedding, so we will definetely not sign on the dotted line until we feel really comfortable with the photographer!
Do you guys think that its important that the photographer is familiar with my wedding site (should he/she have worked there before)?

I cant believe they told you that. My sister used them and I will use them. I was able to request who I want which is Steve. He does EXCELLENT work. I was able to see his work as well as others. Which location did you go to?

I used Patken for my May wedding. I looked at a bunch of photographers and I found them to be the best. My friend also used them and loved them.
My pictures are beautiful. I did not get Doug, although I wanted him. He was already booked. I would suggest Doug, if you can get him. We had Frank or Tom (can't remember which name, one was our videographer) He was good, but he did more traditional than I wanted. I hear Doug is really unique.

We have seen a few photographers (5 to be exact) and the one with whom we felt the most comfortable and with whom we were most in tune(which is definetely important to us--since you spent most of the day with them) was Creative Compositions. We just got off on the right foot--and there were no issues which made us feel uncomfortable or sent up 'red flags'. Their work is amazing and we met the specific photographer who we will be working with on our wedding day and were able to look at a number of different weddings that HE shot. Additionally, he was very familiar with our site, even taking the time to highlight specific areas where the best photographs might be taken.
