Patken Photographer question...

Does anybody know Patken's starting prices on their packages??? I called them, and they were suppose to send me info, and my DJ, Invitation to Dance, who works with them, had asked them twice to send me info since I'm in NC, but I still have not received anything. We're coming up to LI soon and I wanted to set up an appointment, but not if they are way out of my price range. Thanks!!!

Patken Photographer question...

Someone told me the other day that just the proofs ( don't know how many) and no albums are 995. Then for an album and proofs it is 1395. Up from there! I guess they are pretty good about making deals with getting free stuff??? I haven't dealt with them at all though. I am in a similiar situation and planning from Buffalo, NY though! Good luck! Patken Photographer question...

Hi Melissa, I am using Patken and I have met with them. From what I remember, I was told that with the pictures they are willing to work with you. It all depends on how much or how little you want. I think that video packages start around 1000. There are three different ones to choose from. Two of my friends have used them and their pictures are beautiful. Also, Doug the owner, is who you should try for, but Steve is also really good and he does a lot of candids. Good Luck

Melissa, We are also using Patken. We requested Steve. He did my sister's wedding, and they were so BEAUTIFUL!!! If you have a budget on what you want to spend, tell them, and they will work with you. They did that for us. They were very good with that. We are not getting their video, we went with someone else. We just met w/ them on Saturday. They offer cutsom packages. We looked into Doug(the owner), he is 1,000 more. Steve trained w/ him, and is supposed to be really good. We were quoted $6,500 for our package including video. They have nice work, but we are going to look into some other places as well. Good Luck!

Thanks for the info. $6,500 is way to steep for our budget. I have a couple of photographers I'm going to look into that will cost $2,500-$3,500 for photography and video. I haven't seen their work yet, but some of the girls here have recommended them. I do have appointments though. If we don't like them then we'll be going with the more expensive choices. (Well, we won't have much of a choice) Thanks again!

Nancy - Patken Photographer question

No problem!!! We're coming up to LI on June 1st. I will be meeting with at least 4 photographers then. 1 photographer offered us 200-5x7's, 30-8x10's, 4-11x14's, 1-20x30, a leather album with your choice of being bounded or not, 2 parent albums with 5x7's & 8x10's and a video that's 2hrs and 40min. long. 1 original and 1 copy all for $2,500.00. Same style as all the rest from what I've heard. Some traditional poses, candids, photojournalism, etc. This was the best package I've heard yet! So I'm praying that we really like them. Also, another photogpraher said that he's is more than willing to work within our budget, and you also get the same types of pics. So, I'm really excited to meet with them, I'm just hoping I won't have to spend $2,500 just for a starting package. I'll definitely let you know how things go. I'm not sure what style you're looking for in a photographer, or your price range, but to be honest we're not really sure in the style ourselves yet, we just know we can't spend as much as most are asking for. Sorry this is so long, I just thought it was good info!

Melissa, We are also planning from NC, how funny:). We also booked Patken for photo and video and our package for both is under $ 3500. It really depends on what you want. I know they start at $995, but what we liked about them is that we can always add pictures and pages to the album once we get the proofs. They threw in a lot of extras and when we compared packages with other photographers, they were almost $900 less for the same thing. We too wanted Doug, but he was already booked so we are using Vinny.

Who did you find to offer that? I don't want anything spectacular...meaning I want a decent video and photo but do not have a large budget. 2500 would be great and I really don't want to go much above that. We are even thinking that we might have to wait for the albums and extra photos...our total wedding budget is roughly 15K give or take a little bit. I am pretty on the idea I *will* stick to it. Huh, that is funny! There are a few other brides on this board that are planning from NC. And a bunch of others that are planning from other states, etc. I would not be able to do any of this if I never found this board! I wouldn't know where to begin. Anyway, that's a great deal! Nancy - Photographer question

Someone on this board mention them to me. They're called Ziba Film. They just moved to Roslyn from Queens. Remember, I haven't met with them yet, but you can't beat the price. It's a husband and wife team. They told me they have over 15 yrs experience. They do work for TV and news, etc. I'm really hoping they're good. They'll even work with the cost, and the deposit. Their # is: 516-484-8880. They just moved in, it's their house phone # I believe. But they know I'm NC right now and gave me a lot of info right on the phone. The other gentlemen that I spoke to is Hal Lyman. He has a web page. Not a fancy one, but there's nice photos. www.fullviewphotovideo.com He's more than willing to work within my budget also. So, let's keep our fingers crossed, because we can't spend too much either.

Sometimes I really wish we lived atleast a little bit closer than 8 hours! I will have to try to come down very soon to see if I can't see his/their work.
