Hey everyone! OK we just went to Patken for a price quote for wedding pics. They included: 1 Bridal Album that will include 36 of pics (10x10s, 8x10s. 8x8s, and 5 mixes)plus one free colorization shot
90 Thank Yous 1 20x20 1 11x11 2 8x8 1 8x8 engagement shot Min of 250 proofs in album
they quoted us $2,250 plus tax..........how does this price sound to all of you experts??

That sounds good- I am using Patken.
No parent albums????
With Parent albums it would run about $2600
They do amazing work!!!!

I think the 8x8s are for the parents...but that's a good idea about pics for the bridal party!

That price is good and you can't go wrong with Patken!!!! Did you chose a photographer from there yet? We used Steve and he was fabulous

i would say book them.. make sure to get steve or vinny if theyre avail.. they were willing to throw in the 10 5x7's i needed for my bridal party.. also 8x8 is not as usual a photo frame size, you might want to ask to change it to 8 x 10(i did that)

also... the guy told us its more expensive if later on you have to add more thank yous..so make sure 90 is enough(did you plan to send thank you pics to other people who send a gift but can not make it).. Also... are did you want to give your grandparents 5 x 7's??
just a thought cause its easier to get stuff thrown in when the contract is being done, instead of after it

Patken will actually let you order extra pics for half the price if you order with in a certain time frame. I called and got that time frame extended

i heard about the half price after the wedding... thanks for letting me know its within a certain time..
I think when I get my proofs I will pic the album pics quickly, then sleep on it for a night.. I always start to second gues myself
does anyone know when you pick the album pics out do they need your proof album back to do the pics?

ok.. silly question I bet.. he said they dont charge extra for black and white... so does that mean some of the rolls are black and white.. does he have 2 cameras one for color one for black and white... otherwise he'd have to finish a color role before doing black and white right?

If you want alot of b/w pics they should have 2 cameras. Most places do anyway.
But for us, we aren't b/w fans, so our photographer is only bringing 2 rolls and an additional camera just for that. If we like a proof that is in color, he will convert it to b/w. I doubt that will happen as we don't like it much.
You should negotiate to have something thrown in. We are paying about the same price and got folios for our parents and more thank yous thrown in.

how big is the album? I got added $150 certificate towards anything after wedding. 5x7 for each BP member, 60 photos in album ($4,340) 12x12 Sojo Album.
i am using 3 8x8 for parents, not doing album.

I agree...8x8 is an odd size, same with the 11x11 (i would say the 20x20 too but I bet they are framing that one so you don't have to worry). Those size photos won't fit into a normal frame and I would think your family will want to frame those. You may want to see if they can change those to a regular size.
