I went to see my first vendor today, Patken! It went pretty well but my head is still spinning! I haven't made my final decision but saved the date! I went with the 43 picture package to start. I am now wondering if that was appropriate! (I know it can be upgraded though) Any suggestions on a good amount of pics I should start with? Is 43 a good number to start? I'm wondering cause the price seemed a little low.

I have a package with 44 pics w/Patken and I thought it was good. Now Fh and I are thinking of uprgrading. Now 44 seems to low to me

I booked Patken & my wedding pics came out so great, that I went to their soho album & 95 pics.
44 is low but you can always upgrade!

I know! 43 pics sounds kind of low to me now! The saleslady told me that couples usually start even lower! I loved their work; and the prices are great! I am now doing a search for even more pics on this site! Can't find any!

43 photos is NOT enough for a bridal album. Upgrading AFTER the wedding you lose all negiotating power for your contract and any vendor can charge you whatever they want to without giving you a discount. Negiotate now and you can probably get more for your money. Also, confirm the amount of proofs that you will be given. That is VERY important. 250-300 proofs is NOT enough for wedding photography. Also, make sure you read the contract and see if there are any after wedding time constraints such as how long you have to order you album etc...

i already bought one album for a wedding.. it has complete pages 12x12 with cut outs for where the pictures go.. it will save alot more time than scrapbooking.. but will look nicer than just sliding them in..

Kathleen some girls get like 1000 proofs but you dont need pics of a wine bottle or a fork etc

I agree definatly look at Jenn's pics. She had over 400 proofs and OMG when I saw her proofs in person I had a hard time picking photos if I had to pick an album. They were ALL stunning..
I am sorry i think 250 - 300 is a lot. i dont need photo's of my fork, my spoon, 10 shots of my glasses, or the doorway. A good photographer will capture every moment of your day regardless of 200 or 2000 proofs.
