Although I am not new to the wedding site, I am new to posting, but I just had to write and thank you to all of you who do post :) I was looking for a make-up artist and based on your recommendations, I decided to try Paula Young. The trial went wonderfully and I just wanted to send my thanks and give her a thumbs up as well :)

Did you tell her about the board? She seemed very interested when I mentioned it to her yesterday.
I mentioned the board to her when I went for a trial. I decided not to use her though.
Yep, I mentioned that I saw her on the board. I am still waiting to see the pictures we took of the trial to make the 'final' decision, but I am sure they will be alright :)

I had three trials - Paula, Kristen (Enchante) and Jeanne. I felt Paula and Kristen used too much make-up. I felt uncomfortable in it (even though it looked good and I'm used to wearing makeup daily.) It seemed it looked better from a distance than close up (which may be good for pictures but I want to look good to the people too).
With Jeanne, my eyes really popped out, I required no touch ups throughout the day and I looked and felt great. She works out of the Macys in Commack. You go to the counter for your trial and its free. She's $65 for the wedding and will travel to you.

I totally agree with all that you said about the makeup application. I want to look good in person and feel like myself. I am so uncomfortable with a lot of caked on makeup.

Do you know where Sterns was in Commack? (Commack Corners) - where Jericho and 347 fork. By Commack Road.
Anyway, Macys is there where Sterns used to be. She's at the Lancolm counter.
