Gift card to her favorite store? It's not exactly money, but sort of a payment anyway?

My minister was a friend of the family too and she refused to have me pay her. So I had something specially made for her kitchen (in sunflowers) and she thought that was the greatest thing ever!

I am in the EXACT same situation! She refuses to take money. I told her that she better not give me anything for my wedding!

I had a friend of the family do mine as well, who is a professional (who usually charges way too much IMO, but anyway...)
I just made her a tip envelope with $60 in it (would've been $80 but she had said she'd do MIL's make-up and then canceled on doing it the night before). We weren't close or anything, though.
$100 gift card would be a nice thoughtful gift, especially if she'd doing yours and a few others.

Well one thing is if she is doing it as a gift for your wedding then it might be weird to pay her . maybe just give a nice little gift. . I have a friend who is doing my other friends make-up for her wedding and is doing it as a gift so I know she would actually be upset if she got paid bc then she would feel like she should give another gift (which would actually be financially hard) so just a thought. .. maybe accept the gift as a gift if she's not giving one. .

If she doesn't take a gift card or a tip envelope you can always do what I tend to do...I send things to their address! I'm a big fan of Edible Arrangements and recently I sent my photogs (who we didn't tip when we did our epics) a big chocolate overhaul type of basket via this type of service. It's a great way of saying thanks without the other person protesting and people always seem to appreciate it.

As a make up artist, I'd say a gc for 75-100 for her fav store. Do you know what type of make up she uses? I think it's 'fair' if she uses her make up on you to get a GC for that brand, know what I mean?

I asked her about payment and her response was I never charge friends. So, does this mean this is part of our gift? I have no idea. I think I'll go the gift card route. Thanks ladies!
