Anyone here have PCOS? My FH and I are going through the motions of fertility. He knew this before we got engaged. He has been wonderful and so supportive. However, today he had to go to the doctor's office and leave a present for the lab. Well I think he was the most embarresed I have ever seen him. I felt so badly for him, but I really want a baby. UGH TTC is hard work!

Re: PCOS and TTC
I have PCOS but am not currently TTC. I know it's a real struggle for a lot of women.... I have you and your FH in my thoughts! I know there are a few other women on here with PCOS...
Best of luck to you!!!

Re: PCOS and TTC
I too, am a Soul Cyster! I just learned a couple months ago that I have PCOS, and I have been taking Glucophage to help regulate my cycle. However, I already have one child, and will hopefully be TTC again within the new year . You are not necessarily infertile just b/c you have PCO. My OB told me that while I do have a hormonal imbalance, I am not infertile. In fact, my son was conceived within less than 2 months!
So, there is hope for your TTC efforts....just make sure you have a good doctor and you know exactly which symptoms of PCOS you are exhibiting...there are so many things that you can do to help your situation.

Re: PCOS and TTC
I am PCOS and we are TTC. we are using a reproductive endocrinologist and he is great. I am on Glucophage now as well, and if nothing by Jan we will start IUI. I know a lot of people who are PCOS and have had babies.
Edited to add : Hi to all my SoulCysters

Re: PCOS and TTC
PCOS is poly-cystic ovary syndrome.
i am also a Soul Cyster!!
i was diagnosed when i was 21-22 with PCOS. i have been on BCP ever since (8 years) to regulate my cycle (after a few rounds of something - can't remember the name) to get my cycle started at all.
we will be TTC in about an year. my Dr is confident that i will get pregnant, it will probably just require a little medical intervention.

Re: PCOS and TTC
Good to know that there are quite a few of us here. We are going to start clomid soon as well. Although I tell you, I am petrified of multiples. I meet with the RE on Dec 22nd! I will keep everyone posted!

See?? You CAN have a baby! You'll just have to work a little bit harder, and it's SOOOO worth it in the long run!
Good luck!!!

Re: PCOS and TTC
Jenn, Congrats on your beautiful little boy! I too am on Glucophage 2000 mg per day. However, I think I have been so blessed with all the other symptoms of PCOS such as over hair growth and weight gain. I can't seem to get either of these issues under control. I have one of the best REs in Manhattan and even she is amazed that I haven't lost much weight while on the Glucophage. Yes, I am working out and basically live a carb free existence! Well, we will keep trying to figure this all out!
