Pedicure question...

I just had a pedicure (this is only the second one I've ever had in my life...the first one was a lONG time ago)...

Anyway,

The lady cut my toenails soooooooo short, they look like stubs! Is this normal?

Re: Pedicure question...

noooo that's not normal. I get pedicures every 2 weeks and I never let them cut my nails...I just tell them to file them down. Unless your nails were super long they should never cut them.

Re: Pedicure question...

They are not supposed to cut it that short that your nail bed shows, they did it too short. Where did you go

Re: Pedicure question...

Mine usually asks do I want them cut or filed. They shouldn't have cut them that low. I would go back and get a refund.

Depending on your mood, you can yell and scream too. LOL

Next time tell them to just file and not cut. I get my nails filed every 2 weeks and they never need to be cut. Short nails HURT!

Oh mY!!!! Not to make you nervous , but I work for a podiatrist for the past 12 years and a pedicure is a no no. Unless they know what they are doing and that is very controversial. We have seen a lot of botched up pedicaures that are infected ingrown nails, ulcers on the feet, warts, etc. Not to sound gross, but keep an eye on your feet after this, and NEVER go there again. If they do become ingrown, make sure you get to a reputable DPM (Doctor of Podiatric medicine ASAP).

Re: Pedicure question...

My feet look so retarded, and toe nails take a long time to grow! I went to my regular nail salon in Port Jeff, and the woman who does my nails is wonderful, but a differnet woman did my toes (my reg. nail woman couldn't do it).

This totally s*cks!

Re: Pedicure question...

Shamma- In grown toenails can be permananetly removed with phenol, it is a chemical they out in the ingrown nail once it is cut out and they apply it to the root. It can grow back , nothing is 100 percent, but usually 95 percent of the time it does not grow back or it can take years to grow back. You can also get an ingrown nail from poor fitting shoes, or OUCH! an abscess which I got when FH stepped on my foot in Disney World a few weeks ago, the abscess looked like an ingrown, and hurt like a mother****er!!! And most importanly you should NEVER go to a Podiatrist that advertises, they are usually out to make a buck and I can go on and on ..... bunions that is a whole different story... LOL.

Shamma anything you need to know about that FM me. Brian has it in both toes. It got so bad he couldnt even walk because it hurt so much. He had that phenol thing on one of them and it really helped.

I get pedicures all the time and they file my nails. I have been going to them for 6 years and I never had any problems with my toes and pedicures.

Re: Pedicure question...

Pedicures scheeve me to begin with, but I **** it up and go in the summer since they do a better job than I do! No matter how upscale the place is, I really never see anyone CLEAN or disinfect the tubs.
I also never let them cut my nails - I don't trust that they won't cut me. I cut my nails and they file. Oh, and I never let them cut my cuticules either - pushing them back is enough

Re: Pedicure question...

Since we're on the feet discussion, can a raised nail be treated? I have two, both on my 2nd toes. There is two layers of nail, and the top one, if it grows a millimeter too long, hurts and needs to be cut...

Is this also a podiatrist issue? I wouldn't minde seeing someone after the wedding!!!
