Peonies

I really want peonies in my bouquets.... but I am getting married in October
Is there any way that I can get these at all? Will it be a lot of $$$?

You should ask your florist Im sure they can have them imported from somewhere.

this is actually the one flower i couldn't get....my florist said he couldn't even import it. i would call around and find out when they are in season, i know they only bloom for a short period of time and thats why its so difficult and expensive.

I don't know when peonies are in season, I've just heard they're Ranunculus looks similar to peonies, so maybe you could mix them together without spedngin a ton on peonies

I was told I couldnt get peonies either! I have heard people getting them from Holland but its $$$$$$$$$$$$$$

i was upset to hear this too.. i loooove peonies and now i have ot change my whole bouquet.. the good news is I love anemonies.. and my florist said she is goin to see if I can get them for my bouquet and some of the girls.

i think peonies are a spring flower

I was told it's impossible to get them and even if you pay the $$$$$$$$$$$ to get them here they will not last. They are a spring flower and usually the latest you can get them is around June.

I wanted peonies too and I am your weekend twin... looks like I am in the same boat!

I wanted to use peonies as well (they are my favorite flowers) for my centerpieces but my florist told me it would be to much $$$$$ so I decided to just use them for my bouquet. I do believe they are a spring flower. But you should try looking around and speaking to different florist maybe they'll be able to get it for you. You never know. Good Luck

Yes.. Getting them from Holland is pricey, I am actually getting my phale orchids for my CP flown in from Holland and they are very expensive I'm nuts but I love them....so I would have you florist do the research on where you can get them.

But I love peonies as well.. I am carrying them.

They are spring flowers...my mom has them in her garden!
but i'm not sure about a florist not being able to ship them in from somewhere else?

maybe there's something that looks similiar to Peonies?

My friend had peonies imported in November and the quality wasn't great - of course this is not to say that all imported peonies will be poor quality!

Other suggestions:

Garden/Cabbage roses
Dahlias
Lisianthus

try searching for peonies from alaska. i read an article that said that the cooler weather extended the growing season. while this may work for august weddings, i'm not sure about october. good luck!

We are using the same florist and I wanted them for my bm's. Im getting married at the end of may. They told me that it would cost more $$ because they have to import them from holland. They are charging me $75 which is just $10 more than what they are charging me for the 18 roses for them. They will mix them with green berries which i hope looks nice. My girls are wearing misty blue dresses.

def ask your florist. my florist didnt say he couldnt get any flowers he said he would just import them. he doesnt charge by flower so i could get whatever flowers i wanted for a set price.
