Does anyone know if there is a price difference? Thanks

Re: Peonies vs. roses
Are you looking for your wedding? Because I think peonies are really more for spring so they will be scarce for your date causing them to be more money if they have to be sent from some place else. But I am not an expert. You should try posting this on the vendor board so they can give you a better idea.
I hope this helps you.

Re: Peonies vs. roses
Peonies locally bloom in May - so it may be difficult getting them in September - their availability may not even be guaranteed -
Roses are the same price all year round - except for Feb 14 of course - for some odd reason their price triples

Yes it is difficult to get them (peonies) in September. I know because I wanted them! I decided to go with calla lillies instead.
ETS: Some florists charge a set price per bouquet regardless of what type of flowers you choose though.

Peonies are virtually impossible to get outside of early Spring - and if you do get them, you'll be paying a fortune for them. They are my FH's favorite flower so I really wanted them...instead, I went with English Roses - they look like Double Peonie's (the full ones). That might be an option for you. They're also known as Cottage Roses or Antique Roses.
Be careful if a florist tells you he can get peonies even when they are locally out of season. My florist told me this, so I booked him, and now all of a sudden the story has changed.

I had a 'popular-on-the-board' florist tell me he could get peonie's for me as well...but after a lot of research, I found it was virtually impossible (and if he could miraculously find them, what would they look like?? What would they cost??)

I think the same florist told me I could have them! But all the other florists said no... I knew something wasn't right.

It's not necessarily too late timewise - call around, you might be pleasantly surprised. I've heard of brides getting a florist within 3-4 months.

Thanks, but I've already given him too much money to back out.

Thanks. I think the flowers will be fine, but I don't like the way I was treated. It will all come out in my review, which will probably be deleted within seconds.

I wanted peonies for my wedding also and I was told I could not get them as well. My wedding is October 10th. I am going with roses.
Peonies was my first choice though I think they are so beautiful.

Re: Peonies vs. roses
I know I am an '05-er, but when I was doing a search on peonies this post came up! I guess I will have to try to get the antique roses (or wanna-be peonies!)!
Would someone FM the the florist that everyone is having such a hard time with. I would like to know.... so I can stay away!
