Someone I know recently got married. I'm not going to give a ton more info than this to protect people but here's the situation:
'Jenny' is getting married at Reception Hall XX.
A couple months ago... 'Lauren' tells Jenny that they've been there, loved the food, best event EVER, so beautiful.. on and on and on making a HUGE deal out of the RH.
Jenny walks away, Lauren turns to me and says 'OMG at Reception Hall X the services was HORRIBLE, food was cold, place was ugly, and I feel bad she's actually PAYING to have her wedding there'
SO the wedding comes and goes a couple weeks ago... Lauren tells me it's still the worst place she's ever been to. blahblahblah - same old story.
Jenny walks into the room. 'OMG JENNY I HAD THE BEST TIME AT YOUR WEDDING! THE FOOD WAS AMAZING!' on and on and on.
lol the whole thing is ridiculous. kinda funny.
but people are insane. Why bother with all the lying? Lauren could have easily said 'you looked beautiful, what a gorgeous wedding' and left it at that.
Instead she gushed all over her about the RH she apparently despised.

exactly - she could have left it at how she looked and not brought up the RH At all! that's crazy!

That's crazy! I understand she didn't want to offend the girl getting married and/or hurt her feelings trashing a hall she had booked & paid $$ on. But don't lie in her face!
If something isn't good at my hall-i'd rather people tell me so i can made a decision about it on my own. And if after the wedding things weren't up to par-tell me!

I know a girl like that and makes me feel super uncomfortable if she compliments me on anything. Makes me paranoid that she'll talk shlt as soon as my back is turned.
