I can't believe we really didn't hit our min of 75, close though. I am the kind of person that goes to everyone's everything even though I am broke. Most of my familly isn't coming to my wedding-only 8 cousins and 1 uncle! We invited 25 coworkers and only 6 said yes, maybe 7. I don't do much outside work with the coworkers, so FH is fine that no one is really coming. I am more bothered by it. I don't feel like going to anything for anyone any longer, I am done. Vent over.

I know it is upsetting, but your day will still be beautiful! We were 3 below our minimum, and you know what -- it didn't matter! The day of your wedding you will be so excited and happy, you won't notice the people who disappointed you now. Don't change who you are because others disappointed you. Remember how it felt and continue to be the thoughtful person you always have been!

Thanks, it is funny you said that because I didn't invite a few of my second cousins that I wanted to but I invited 170 people-20 over the max the hall can hold and I found out that one of them was getting married in Nov and I was on their B list! I called their aunt yesterday, who I am very close with, and asked her to ask them if they wanted to go and explained the invite issue and how no other second cousins were invited and the number of families that said no. She called back today and said they can't afford to go either. I got the invite for their wedding today and I don't feel like going now.

I would honestly but upset as well, as you have every right to be. Just think that everyone around you on that day knows that you and your FH are soooo special they wouldn't miss your day for anything in the world

I had this same issue at my wedding with alot of people I had invited that I thought would come and they didn't. I found out alot from this experience and believe me you find out who your real friends and family are. I would not worry about it and enjoy your day with the people that care and showed.
As for the cousins wedding in November just tell them you can't afford it because you just got married 2 months prior and that it drained you. I guess she was planning on inviting you if she didn't get the min too. Good luck on your day and it will be fine and beautiful.

Don't worry. I am currently stressing over the same thing. I still haven't gotten back about 10 rsvp cards but I almost certain we will not hit our minimum by at least 15 people. I am sad because there are even people who rsvped yes and have contacted us this week to say they can't come....6 people. I just have to tell myself that the day will be special no matter who shows up. Good luck!

I totally agree too!
I wish my family was more honest. Many of them are coming cause they feel they have to, not cause they want to.

Thanks for the upbeat words of support. My FH doesn't seem upset at all over it. He actually has more family coming than expected, just 2 close friends that aren't that bother him. I guess the economy is getting everyone.

I didn't make my minimum either BUT on the bright side, I put the $ towards food upgrades. See if you can do that! We were able to add mini ice cream cones & frozen drinks & a better entree! Yum!
