people have no idea..

what goes into wedding planning!!!

so i have gotten my dress, and booked most of my major vendors. 'People are like so you are done already? You can just sit and wait till the wedding day now?'

I'm like ummmm noo.... I may have gotten some big things done but there is still 1001 things to do....people don't get what actually goes into planning!

OMG... People say this to me everyday. They tell me that I'll be doing nothing for a year. I'm like ummm no... there is SO much to plan for the wedding after vendors are booked, let alone planning a honeymoon, and searching for a house!

All we've done is book the RH and the church..
I don't even know what to do now, besides FH isn't as into planning anymore as he had been.

I COULDN'T AGREE MORE!!!!!!!!

all I have done is the ceremony/reception location and my dress...and half done with bm dresses.

and I was telling my friend how much more I have to do and she was like 'What else do you have to do?'

oh ok yeah I'll just show up in my dress at the ceremony location and everything else will be magically taken care of!!!!

megan, the FIRST thing you need to do is block your hotel rooms if you can!

2. Find a photog.
3. Book the florist.
4. Band /DJ
5. Officiant
6. Video if needed

Get the big vendors out of the way and booked. You dont want to loose a photog or DJ you want because they are booked. You have time on your hands now, use the time to your advantage!

See, I tried to look into my hotel block and 2 hotels told me to come back when my wedding gets closer. Sooooooo frustrating because I like to have things planned and done with.

the big things were the easier things to do, all the smaller items are such a PIA and annoying

This really amuses me, because of something that happened with FH.

Probably about a month ago, when we were in the midst of RH searching, FH said to me (he was completely and seriously asking me this question) 'Well, once we book the Reception Hall we don't have to do anything else until the day of the Wedding, right?'

my FH said something as crazy as that as well. right after we got engaged and started thinking what should our budget be, he said that we need only $10K for it. he started listing all the things he wanted and quoting some ridiculously low, mid 1950's prices totally clueless!

people say the same thing to me as well. especially friends from my country and its totally driving me craaaazy!
