People Inviting Themselves

People Inviting Themselves

Has anyone else had people invite themselves to your wedding or made you feel guilty so you landed up inviting them? Because this seems to be happening to me often.

Just to the church which I dont care if they come to that. So many of FH customers are going to show up at the church

An easy and polite out to this would be to say something like due to budget restrictions, you aren't yet sure if you can extend invites past family and very close friends.

You're getting married in July, so you have a bit of time to weigh out the possibility of inviting certain people.

A few people on FH's side have pretty much invited themselves to my wedding! I am speechless when it happens! I would NEVER assume I was invited to someone's wedding if i wasnt super close to them

I have some 4th cousins that think they are automatically on the list and I only saw them once in my entire life! The nerve!

I had one person say- oh, I can’t wait for your wedding and I really wasn’t sure I was going to invite them, but it’s only one person so….

People (clients actually) come up to FMIL and say, 'Oh, I'm invited right??'

Shes says Of course!!!

This happened a lot of the beginning and I had to tell her to stop. I told her to remember this key line:

'Oh, they haven't set a date yet and I think they want a small wedding, so it might just be our 2 families and only a couple of their friends.'

Re: People Inviting Themselves

yes! this def happens!!

it's even happened to a coworker of mine!

people just say things. it's just how it goes. if anything just feel special that they really want to come see you get married. It's kinda cute actually. I think it's sweet. even if it seems obnoxious... try to look at it from a positive perspective.

I even had people ask me if they were going to be in the BP!!!! I had one girl say to me... on Christmas day (2 days after I got engaged) 'so who is going to be your MOH? me or her'... there were 3 of us talking in a circle so she literally pointed to the other girl when she said it. I was sooo taken aback by this.
