Has anyone else noticed that since they have gotten engaged SO many people have just starting coming outta the woodwork from your past and NOW wanna become friends all over again. WTH? I just don't get it.
Especially with the help of FB I have had so many people try to contact me who I haven't spoken to since lets say High School and want to go to lunch and hang out even try talking about wedding plans with me. Like they want to be friends NOW after all these years, and the only reasoning I can think is to get a wedding invite. I don't get it....

Re: People popping up out of no where
We've bumped into a few already, and they are like 'I cant wait to see you!' or 'your wedding is gonna be so much fun!' and all that's going threw my head is 'I haven't spoken to you in almost 10years....'
I just don't get it. Maybe cause last year was our year of non-stop weddings that we had to go to or were in, but I would never try to go out of my way and befriend someone just to go to a wedding.

Unfortunately this is all too common!
I dont understand why you would want to come to my wedding if we haven't spoke in 7-10 years! I certainly wouldnt want to go to theirs! hahahaha

Re: People popping up out of no where
You had a very valid point Sarah, but I think we're speaking of not the people who just wanna say hi, congrats im so excited for you... bc that has happend and thats nice.....especially if they got married and can give pointers and/or advice.
but instead speaking of the the people who want to say hi followed by and OMG cant wait to go to your wedding and its like what????? you know, the infamous self inviters hahahahaha
eta - or at least thats what im speaking of, I shouldnt speak for everyone

Re: People popping up out of no where
I understand wanting to reach out, don't get me wrong I do the same thing sometimes. I guess I should have clarified more I was meaning the people who I was never really that close with to begin with and on top have never really spoken to in the longest timeor the people you met once threw a friend.
And when they come out and say something like 'I cant wait to go to wedding' and you know its not just a 'how's life been, I'm so happy for you' convo.

Re: People popping up out of no where
I'm fine with people popping out of nowhere to congratulate me or whatever but what I won't be fine with is if people who I don't like or who have made it clear they don't like me, start looking for an invite. I try not to waste any energy on not liking people but there are people out there who have made it clear they don't like me and I just hope they don't start talking to me again.

Yes, it's already happened to us a few times. I just ignore them and try not to talk wedding stuff with people I'm not inviting.
