And say 'Hopefully you can deduct 2 meals from the count'...um no I cant because its five days away. Or another who told me her husband could no longer come said 'let me know if you've already paid the final bill b/c we will give you extra if you did since he isnt coming'. What did you reply to these people???

None of our guests were considerate enough to think of our side of the issue when they cancelled the week before. (Except for one couple! ) Most didn't even bother to call- they just didn't show!

Thats awkard- do you say yea umm that would be $300- thank you or let them slide since there either friends or family and try to find replacements. Id be pissed and more the likely want to kick them in the junk either way next time I saw them. Hope it works out for you

my friend said that if her sister gives birth that day, she AND her plus one won't be able to come. but she won't be able to tell me for sure until the afternoon before my wedding.

I started writing back 'I'm really sorry to hear that especially since we've already paid the final bill. Given that, if you are able to find a babysitter, you can still come'. But I stopped myself...

People are so freakin rude! I've had the same thing happen to me. One person canceled on us and then one person asked if her father can come????? Really? You're asking me a WEEK before my wedding. I would be honest and say that your plate has already been paid for, so do what you feel is the right thing to do. My opinion is that if you are rude enough to cancel the last minute, I have no reason to sugar coat anything.
