people that care will come through for you

people that care will come through for you

SO I was just thinking......

One of my BMs was in an awful mood for a few months before my wedding. Her boyfriend broke up with her and her mom is fatally ill. She likes her job but has tons of stress there. She became kinda moody. I just blamed it on the circumstances. Still, I was really upset that she might be so sad and not too nice at my wedding. She had asked to walk down the aisle with one of the GM that she really likes. At first I said 'maybe.' At the last minute I decided to just let her walk with him--it would not cost me anything and if I didn't, she would be unhappy. Well, for the day of my wedding, she put aside all of her negative thoughts and she had a ball!!!!! I was so happy every time I looked at her. It had been so long since she just let loose!!!!

And now, she is gradually doing better. She started to date other people. Her mom is still very sick but not critical right now. She is sort of accepting that her mom is elderly and has had a great life. It will be a tough road. Her dad already passed. But now that I saw how she found a way to enjoy my wedding, I want to be there for her more, know what i mean?????

I guess I really thought she might just sulk at my wedding, but that so totally did not happen!!!!! She looked hot and she said that when she got dressed, that was when she knew she'd have a great time!!!

Awwwww, that's really great. I know exactly what you mean. Your friend had a lot on her mind (understandably), but she put it aside to have a good time at your wedding.

That was a great story! Thanks for sharing! Isn't it nice when friendship works?

I would say that she is very lucky to have you as a friend and someone who understands her that well. I'm so glad that she has you and that you have her in your life. That's honestly what bridesmaids and friends are all about.

I guess I should have had more faith in her before the wedding!!!!! I really thought she'd be in a terrible mood. Also, I'm friends with some girls that she had an argument with and I thought that could be a problem but they all ended up taking pictures of each other!

I agree- I actually was fighting with my MOH before I was MOH in her wedding (long story but she wasn't being a very good person to her FH and his family) but I made sure I put it all aside the day of the wedding and I treated her as I would have if we weren't fighting.

I'm glad that I did that and things are back to normal. She's been great for my wedding!

You're totally right, Kerie. One of my BMs announced that she was getting divorced 4 days before my wedding (after a year and 2 months of marriage), and she still flew out from Arizona to be there for me. She was cheerful and 100% the whole weekend.

that's nice...good to know your wedding day wound up being a day for her to forget about her problems...even if it was just for a few hours!
