People that sent there regrets

Were you a little disappointed on any of the regrets for your wedding. I was really hope a friend of mine could've come. She said she would love to come but its not possible. I know this person a long time. She wrote me a long email about things going on in her life. She signs it your best friend then i quotes says i still hope

I felt disappointment and hurt when I received the few 'will not attends' I tend to be oversensitive about stuff like this and take it personally.

What bothered me the most though was out of the four 'no's' I've received so far, only one bothered to write an explanation as to why they couldn't attend. The others just checked the 'will not attend' space and one of those was my aunt!!! I think I at least deserve a little note or something from her! Don't you agree?

I just sent my invites out last week, so I've had three days of responses so far. Already, there have been a few No's. They have all been from people that my FMIL invited and I don't even know them, but I was still really disappointed! I mean, why wouldn't you want to come to my wedding? What else could you possibly be doing that day???

I was deifnitely disappointed, but it made me feel so much better when they wrote a little note to say why, instead of just checking 'no'. Still, some of the reasons were kind of crappy, but at least it seemed like they felt bad!

Yeah we were sad especially about some people we expected to be there and had said they were coming and then things came up....

just a few. for the most part I was really happy about the no's because I wanted a pretty small wedding.

So far we only had one No that we weren't expecting and that did disappoint me. She had been saying all along to both my FMIL and FH - 'I had better be invited.' So we were shocked when she said no...on top of it there was no valid reason so that hurt too. But what can we do, right?

Re: People that sent there regrets

I asked someone who I though was a friend to be a bridesmaid. She's been doing my hair for 5 years (in her home). She seemed really happy about it. The day that I had my first bridesmaid meeting, she never called and never picked up her phone. I had to call her two weeks later and she said that she went to the beach! I told my fiance that I'm not going to have her as a bridesmaid (can't depend on her). I was going to hold a grudge. I'm like another bride here, I take this personally because I don't mistreat people. But then I realized that I need her for my hair and that I'll keep her as my hairstylist and nothing more. I went about two weeks ago and she didn't mention anything about the meeting or the wedding. I bought up wedding conversations and she didn't say anything. For years we always agreed that she would be there. Oh well, her loss :) This goes for all the other brides as well. It's their loss!!!

I was surprised by some no responses. Some co-workers from prior jobs, for example.

Overall I am just a bit sad at how many people can't come. We invited 240 and are only expecting 140-150 at this point (my estimates keep dropping -104 confirmed, 92 outstanding). I am not worried about min. but I keep thinking the place will look empty.

Sigh --
