People using table names instead of numbers ...
How are people going to know which table is what name without everyone walking around to all the tables until they find the right one?

I'm not sure what you mean...Do you mean that there may be confusion because the tables won't be numbered consecutively? Otherwise, people will know because, in the same way there is usually a sign on tables with the number, instead there will be some sort of signage with the name. I actually like the idea of folks wandering around looking at all the different table names (much more interesting than wandering around looking for the right table number, which is what I usually end up doing any way!). I haven't had any noticeable difficulties finding my table at weddings when it's been named instead of numbered, and I've always found it interesting to look at all the names.
I had table names (250 people) and it worked out just fine.. I had 8 x 10 table frames with the names (venetian masquerade theme) and a HUGE seating chart with the names of the tables and the people seated at the tables in the middle of the chart and on the sides, was a chart with all the guests in alphabetical order and the table name..
We just thought talked about doing names instead of numbers last night & first thing FI said, was how will everyone know where to go. I did think about making a seating chart but was wondering what everyone else had done. Thanks for the input!
I would love to do this. I thought I would name the tables after the beaches we have been to (we are getting married by the beach).
