People walking down the aisle

People walking down the aisle

My mom asked me the other day who will walk with my grandmother down the aisle. FH doesn't have any grandparents alive to walk with my grandmother. My dad can't really do it since he has trouble walking. Is it 'proper etiquette' if she walks down by herself.

TIA

I don't know about etiquette, but if it were me I would probably have someone walk her - do you have ushers? a grommsman? A brother or sister?

Do you have any brothers or does your grandmother have any sons that can escort her down -

escorts get escort more than one person - but i would not have your dad escort anyone else but you - special father dauther moment

do you have any brothers or does she have any grandsons. My grandfather passed away and all the weddings since either her son in laws or her son or one of her grandsons has walked her down and into the reception.

she has two grandsons. but i don't want to exclude my 3 girls cousins. she does have a son. since he's coming from out of town, getting a tux would be another expense. my 2 sisters are bm's. would it be okay for them to walk her down then walk down with the groommen?

Let him walk her down in his suit! I don't think a tux is necessary for him! YOur grandmother is the one in the spotlight!

It would be one of the ushers that would walk her down the isle.

I would say her son, in his suit would be a good choice.

I have the same thing with my grandmother....she is very sentimental about it. My grandfather (who I was sooooo close to) passed away- my grandparents in FL are both alive and my FI's grandparents are both alive, so my grandmother is emotional about being 'alone' and wanting my grandpa there. Sooooo I left it up to her- if she wanted to walk a lone or with an escort. She said my uncle (her BIL) could walk her down, so thats what I am doing. And my uncle won't have a tux.

definately her son in a suit a tux is not a big deal and she will feel better with her son walking her down.

Having her son walk her down the aisle is more appropriate than one of your groomsmen (unless he was family to her). He does not need a tux, his suit is just fine.

Have her son escort her. When it comes to family members walking down the aisle, their attire doesn't matter, only the bridal party. I'm sure he would be honored to do it.

I would have one of the groomsmen walk her down and then they can walk to the back and escort whatever BM they were supposed to walk down.

what about your mother? are you having Her And your father walk you down the aisle? if not, i think that would be really nice IMO

When my parents go married, the 2 of them just went to city hall (and brought me with them)... i know that my mom sometimes regrets that my grandparents werent there, and with my grandmother having just past away, i feel like its on her mind more than it used to be. So i'm havign my grandfather walk my mom down the aisle... so that, in a way, they can have that 'father/daughter' experience that they never got to
