So, I'm still missing 30 RSVP's. I have called all people on my side. I have gotten in touch with some and gotten their responses. Some I have left messages for and they have not gotten back to me. Should I just assume that they are not coming? It's now 2 weeks past my RSVP date.

Re: People who did not RSVP?
I would make a secondary call to those people and request they get back to you with in a day. If they can not return your call you 'regretfully' assume that they will not be able to attend and will be counted as no.

Re: People who did not RSVP?
If you assume they're not coming and not count them in your total to your reception hall (and not place them someplace in the seating chart) and then they tell you yes, it will be a huge pain.
What I did was basically tell people (in a VERY nicely worded email or phone message) that if they didn't tell me by the coming Sunday, I would have to count them as a no since my reception hall won't allow changes after this day. Now, this wasn't really the case since I could make changes up to 2 days prior to the wedding, but I didn't tell that to the RSVP deliquents. It was the only way to get an answer out of them.

Re: People who did not RSVP?
that's tough if they're not responding to your messages. I had to call quite a few guests who didn't rsvp. One of them told me that she was coming when I finally got in touch with her, but she never let me know if she was bringing her boyfriend! Which was weird. Maybe they broke up? I dunno. Just a simple YES or NO would have been good! Jeez. So after a couple weeks of trying to get in touch with her again, I just finally put her down as coming solo. If she tries to add him now, I'll have to tell her it's too late. But I'm still a little nervous that she'll try to bring him without telling me. She's just been sooo rude!
So I dunno. If I were you, I'd definitely just try to count those people who don't know how to rsvp as a big fat NO, but on the otherhand, there's still a small chance they may still say that they're coming. I guess if you do need your final count, just put 'em down as not coming and if they call late or whatever, you can just tell them that it's too late. It may sound rude, but that's pretty much what I would do (only if your on a deadline though or getting too close to your maximum)

I would call again and see if you can get them on the phone. I know what you are going threw. We didn't get a lot of RSVP's back and now we are calling them as well to see if they are coming to the wedding or not. Our RSVP date was Dec 1st. We have to meet with our rh to give a head cout but our final head count is due the week before the wedding.

I am in the exact same boat, I am missing almost 40 rsvps, waiting for phone calls back. Do you know some people said they just don't know. My rsvp date is over and I have to give my RH an estimated final count this Sunday. Its so00o aggravating. I am giving them till Friday if I can't get in touch with them or they don't call back, I am going to assume they aren't coming.

I'll try one more time. If not, I guess they are a loss. I invited 285 people to the wedding. I definately thought that I would hit my minimum of 190 with that many guests invited. I haven't even hit my minimum yet.

Don't feel bad, we haven't met our minimum either. I just don't understand how people can be so rude and just not respond, not call. Hopefully it will work out.

People really can be rude. One guy told me he wouldn't know until two days before my wedding if he and his wife could attend. I politely told him I needed to know by tomorrow (just because I didn't want to wait until 2 days prior) and so he told me no. And this is someone who got married two years ago and KNOWS all about RSVP drama. People just don't care.

i agree, people are rude. what is so hard about sending back a stamped envelope? i would just put them down as no's if you still don't hear anything, no need to kill yourself chasing them down.

Re: People who did not RSVP?
Ah, there was just a blurb about this in the advice column I read. Someone was complaining that ppl don't RSVP anymore and it is such a hassle to try and track them down via phone or e-mail.
I agree it is very rude. I don't know what is wrong with some ppl. I can understand the occassional person forgetting and needing a gentle reminder. But to have so many people not respond is way not cool.

Re: People who did not RSVP?
Unfortunately this is a common problem...I don't know any brides who had all their RSVPs returned to them!!! Is there anyone who can call for you to help you get answers?
As far as not hitting your mininum, I was in the same boat...we didn't meet ours. Most RHs will work with you and throw something in (like an extra station at CH) that will make up for the cost of the extra plates. Also, when you do your mininum count, don't forget to include yourself and FH ....and they will count vendors, babies, children towards your mininum too.

My feeling is...if you 'just don't know' then you really aren't sure if you want to come, so i don't need you there...people are so weird and rude..this isn't a birthday party at a bar..this is a WEDDING...ugh!!!

Re: People who did not RSVP?
I would call them after work. When you know they are home and try and block your # incase they are avoiding your call. Its kinda rude not to call you back. I would tell them you need to know by such a date and if not they will be counted as a no.
