I have a feeling that the cost per plate in Missouri is not the same as LI!
was going to say the same thing. we were talking to a newlywed couple on our honeymoon, they live in Florida, they said that the no shows cost them $10 each!!! I almost passed out! (thats not including open bar though). things are A WHOLE lot cheaper outside of NY.

Maybe they have a minimum # of people they have to have, so they're going to pay whether people come or not.
Certainly not something I'd choose to do, but to each his own. At least it's an original idea.

Notice they wan them to sit on the groom's side. Maybe the groom's family doens't want to show up and they want the church to look full.

maralynne - I also loved that ebay post with the guy with his ex-wife's wedding dress. Turned out he was a scam artist. If I remember correctly, he was an alcoholic, the divorce was HIS fault, not hers and they did have a kid together. I believe almost everything he wrote was blsht. But you gotta give the guys props for knowing what to do to sell an item. It was the funnies thing ever!
