So my FH and I are meeting with the DJ we are booking tonight and one of the other DJ's we met with brought up the idea of having a percussionist play along with the music. I have seen people have them before in pictures but have never experienced one in person.
Please share any experiences, go or bad, that you have had or friends might have had with this.
Is it worth the extra money?

Totally worth every penny!! I am actually having a percussionist play along with the DJ at my wedding, obviously they won't do every song like slow dances and such, but my friends just attended a wedding that had this and said that it was amazing. It made people get into the music that much more. I say go for it!!

We are doing it too, and feel it's totalyl worth it, especially because we will be having a lot of spanish music at the wedding. I say if it is in your budget than go for it, it's that little extra something that your guests will not be able to stop talking about!

so are we!!! I am so excited about it!!! We are also having a steel drum during the cocktail hour and a rat pack singer during dinner!!!

I'm doing that (and a singer, and sax player)... Same package FSIL had. It was great!

we are doing this. we are getting the steel drums for CH and full percussionist for Reception. I am soooo excited about this! Its the one thing my cheap butt was all about spending money on! cannot wait.

I'm doing it too! Just booked the DJ with percussion for fast songs and the singer for slow songs & at dinner. FH & MIL pushed for it but when I saw the demo I thought it was great!

I saw this at a showcase in January and thought it was amazing. It is exactly what I would've done had we not gone with a band.
