I like the salt and pepper shakers, I think they're a little more useful than a candle, and if I didn't use them for their actual purpose, I would use them as knick knacks on a shelf, whereas candles if I don't use (and rarely do) they get all dusty and gross and I usually throw them out before ever getting around to lighting them.

candle, unless your kitchen goes with the pear theme you will never use the salt and pepper shakers
